The estate and the wine |
A rising star of Spain’s wine renaissance, Jumilla has earned a place on the world stage. It’s here that Bodegas Olivares has built its reputation, anchored by two rare assets: vineyards perched over 800 metres high—the coolest zone in the appellation—and a remarkable heritage of ungrafted Monastrell vines. Planted in sandy, limestone-rich soils, these old vines survived phylloxera and continue to yield fruit of striking intensity and perfume.
This treasure is carefully nurtured by the Olivares family, who coax out deep concentration and fragrance through long macerations, native-yeast fermentations, and gentle ageing in large-format oak vessels. |

Bright and expressive, the 2022 Situla Tinto Red from Jumilla overflows with vibrant, well-balanced fruit flavors, accented by savory black olive and juicy Burlat cherry. The palate is light and elegant, with fine, silky tannins that give it a fresh, infusion-style character—distinctive in the region’s wine scene. A pleasure to enjoy at any moment, this wine is best served slightly chilled and offers outstanding value for money. |
