The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Nicolas Potel was one of Burgundy’s most respected figures, admired by everyone who had the chance to work with him. After selling his family estate, Domaine de la Pousse d’Or, he accomplished the rare feat of elevating the Bellene group—both the domaine and his négociant wines—to the highest level of excellence.

A true free spirit, Nicolas believed in organic farming practiced with both rigor and open-mindedness. His wines were always graceful and expressive, combining depth, vibrant aromas, and an effortless elegance that made them stand out. The two cuvées we’re sharing with you today are among the most popular on VALAP, and they capture everything that made his work so special.
Wine Fresh and refined, the 2022 Burgundy Chardonnay White is crafted from perfectly ripe grapes and showcases a vibrant minerality. Its delicate, pure, and crisp nose offers shell-like aromas interwoven with floral notes, all supported by a very subtle touch of oak. On the palate, it delivers smooth, tangy freshness with good density, while remaining light and easy-drinking—enjoyable now and over the next five years. A favorite of the Selection Committee, rated 92/100.
Vinification Hand harvested. Fermented with indigenous yeasts. Aged in oak barrels. 100% malolactic fermentation. Fining and light filtration.
